Installing gcc on puppy linux

Hello,
I've been configuring puppy linux for the last couple of days and have run into two issues.
1. does not ship with the gnu gcc compiler and it is not available in the package manager.
2. Not possible to create two partitions with gparted and be able to view both in windows.

as the first one is more pressing and I have seemingly exausted all my options (on both of them), I decided to shoot for that one first.

I downloaded gcc-4.3.2 here on my windows machine, unzipped it, booted to linux, copied it, moved it where I wanted it, and tried to configure it like this:
Code:
./configure srcdir=/root/gcc-4.3.2 --enable languages=c,c++
.
I ended up getting "no accaptable C compiler found in $PATH".
I want to get g++ installed, the other compilers aren't nessecary now, and I'd like to make it usable from the command line.

thanks for taking a look,

enduser000

Hey - I got it done,
someone told me you need a file called devx_X.sfs where X is your dist version. You replace the files in the root directory and then you have a c compiler. cool...

enduser000,

2 Questions: 1) What files belong in the srcdir & objdir directory respectively? (I’m installing gcc and I need clarification) 2) Did you ever resolve the original issue?
