installation problem only text mode no graphics


hai ,

i have installed mandrake 10.1 in pentium pc but it is directly going to text mode that is init 3
if i give init 5 it says failed as i know i have to setup xgraphic setup but i dont know in mandrake how to in x11 folder please guide me

do u type 'init 5' at the console after logging in (to runlevel 3) or did you change your /etc/inittab file?

if u just run the command, try typing 'startx' instead of that.. id think that mandrake would be friendly enough to setup a default working x display
