I have a AMD 1Gh pc with 500mb of ram, 2 Hard drives
1 is 120 other is 80
it runs fine but when installing Kubuntu 6.10 i386 frome a DVD (have not tryed a cd verson) after I tell it to (run install) it stops right at the loading part were you see the Kububtu logo saing loading.... it will not go any futher and will not load up.. any ideas on how to fix this problme?
ok well I don't rember exactly where i downloaded it. But in any case it is a Debian off shoot. I porbly just go back to debian. which download should i get the dvd cd or the install and downlad part. also I think I would get a iX86 but not sure..
Ok I re-checked it and I did downloaded it from the web-homepage using Bittorrent.. http://www.kubuntu.org/download.php.
Now I tried it again last night and went to the text install (don’t quite know what the difference was it installed not prompting me with text but a gui). None the less I installed it then tried loading it up same problem... it gets to the second screen.. First screen being the choices kubuntu/windows xp ect.. Second was the Kubuntu logo and the blue 5 or six short lines (I ges it is to show that it is loading) yet noting happens it gets locked up there. Am I using the wrong version (I don’t think so because I know that my pc is not amd64 it is amd/athlon.. well any ides would be appreciated.
