Hey use Redhat Linux.
It good for a laptop. But remember when installing it do not
use extra mouse or keyboard, use the original touchpad or keyboard of your laptop otherwise they wont be detected after all.

Well, Fedora Core is not really "supported", it's a test bed for anything that Red Hat want to add to their Enterprise Edition. Either one works, although I'd probably go with Red Hat if you want offical support.

Well, they just now went purely business in thier customer scope, however, they do sell versions of Red Hat that the adverage joe can buy. i didn't look to closely, but there is a new Red Hat version out in retail stores that sells for 99.99. Also, you could just buy any Red Hat 9 book and use that. Granted Red Hat 9 has reached the end of it's life-cycle(according to Red Hat), but is should be fairly recent enough to support older computers. Also, this forum site, among others, will help you out with anything problems you might have with RH9.
