No Open Office or Games showed-up on KDE from a full install.
Must I download all these packages seperately and install them or do i need the 2nd iso? not sure. thanks
My second question pertains to other distors also. On shutdown Mandrake does not power down (Athlon XP.Soyo). This never occurs on SuSE though. Anybody know why? What is it in Mandrake and other distrobutions that is not configured by default?
Thanks and excuse for 2 questions: though they are install related issues.
Burke: for the shutdown issue try this:
in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules
uncomment /sbin/modprobe apm
it might just do the trick, you'll have to reboot after the change
( works in slack and vectorlinux )
Funny thing about the shutdown issue for me... I installed a few rpms for nVidia and other stuff from pclinuxonline.com and my shutdown issue went away Yay!
-- BTW -- my previous experiences with the nVidia RPMS were less than desireable. I always had to resort to the tar file & read directions... until now. Texstar or whoever made the RPMS on his site did an excellent job!
