Im have been a kde user for several years and i have heard some good things
about gnome so i thought i try it out, i find it kind of good, stable and fast.
But as i am a kde user some things confuses me, my first problem is.
How do i unpack files in gnome?
If you click a compressed file (.tar.gz for example), you should get choices to open your package handling program or something like "Extract here", to start with. No idea what you're missing, but how did you install your Gnome? Maybe there's something wrong/packages missing, because I installed Ubuntu (with Gnome desktop) and those choices in the menu do exist that let me handle compressed packages just by right-clicking on them..
I installed gnome thurough pacman (archlinux).
Some packages must be missing then, because i havent any options when im clicking packed files.
So i have been using the command line.
