Unable to run grub-mkconfig, can't get system to boot.

Trying to setup grub after a kernel update on Slackware 14.1. It gives me this error when I run grub-mkconfig.

Code:
/usr/bin/grub-mkrelpath: /lib64/libudev.so.1: no version information available (required by /lib64/libudevmapper.so.1.02)
Machine won't boot now. Have to boot from the slackware install from the slackware install disk. Not sure where you go from here. Any help will be much appreciated.

you can temporarily edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg directly, to include your new kernel.
until you get that error fixed.
