Smile Seasons greetings from under the process tree

Seasons greetings! If anyone's looking for a desktop seasonal "tree" with blinking-lights, I've made a few seasonal layout changes to a utility I write earlier in the year. The colors are customisable via the GUI, so anyone who wants to brighten up their own tree should have no problems doing so.

Pretty cool - graphically useful representation, very low on resources. Nice tree.
I only had to install python-psutils as a dependency (I guess I already had all the python Qt stuff).

Merry Christmas!

Seasons greetings! Thanks for the feedback.

I tried to minimise the resources consumed. The dotty view is a simple paint on a canvas (there are no widgets involved for the dots/circles/etc). If the GUI is iconised, it stops drawing, only the monitoring/notification code remains be active.

Just don't turn on the USS option, the library code that computes that seems to burn CPU.

I have seen the odd interesting pattern. For example, when my desktop is under memory pressure, I sometimes see all dots simultaneously do an RSS-shrink. I presume the kernel is putting the squeeze on almost everything in preference to supplying the memory-hog/buffer-cache. It's not what I would have expected if responsiveness was a priority.

Cheers,
Michael
