Problem booting Ubunt

Hello.
I have a pc with a 200 gb IDE disk and a 80g sata disk. I recently tried installing the newest Ubuntun on the ide disk, but nothing happend. The problem was, WIn XP, which is on my my sata disk, takes over the boot process.
So i tried setting up another partition on my sata disk, and install Ubuntu on that. But when i boot, i now get the error message: "Feil under lasting av oprativsystem" Which is Norwegian for: Error loading operating system. I have tried installing GAG, but i wont load WIn XP or Ubunt either

Have i lost win xp now? And can anybody tell me how to install Ubuntu properly, WITH win XP?

Thanks in advanced

Robert
