still consider myself a linux newbie however been at it for around 4 months and getting there. Untill....


I am using fluxbox on ubuntu 6.06 Dapper (upgraded from 5.10) I started using fluxbox to keep space and overall footprint to a minumum.

I use vnc to connect to X to run wine / other GUI apps... everything was going fine with mozilla, k3b etc.

However when I try an fire trueimage 9.1 from an xterm I get:

No XRender extension found work in emulation mode


Not being one to just throw stuff up - I will continue to research this. I know the code is good as I can get the app to fire through gnome on another machine. I really want to keep fluxbox so is there a way to get Xrender extensions installed?

is there a place / command I can run to check if I have them?

appreciate any advice links you can give me.
