LXDE Hanging on desktop rightclick

I don't remember doing anything, but every time I right click on the desktop no menu shows and the laptop hangs and then latter crashes. I've reinstalled the LXDE DE but no luck.

The only thing I've done was do system changes to access a printer on a Windows machine and some mounting of a drive on a Windows system, but I fail to see how that could cause a problem.

Ideas?
