Linux (any distro) and Raid

Help! Building a new computer and so far Debian 4 is the only distro that's managing to install. It, however, is only installing on ONE drive. it doesn't recognize the raid as a raid but as two separate disks. The mobo guide book says you need to make a raid floppy, but only lists how to do it for ms products so how do I do Raid in the Linux world? Would like to use Suse 10.2 but will take what I can get at this point.

Sys specs:
Mobo
Gigabyte GA-P35C-CS3R
RAM Musksin (2GB)
Hard drive (2) SEAGATE ST3320620NS 320GB SATA 7200 RPM 16MB
Video card Nvidia GTS8800 640MB

Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's probably a fake raid controller, and you need to install some drivers for it to work..

did you try installing dmraid ? that seems to be what people are using with the ICH9 chipset..

If you can't get your raid controller on your systemboard to work just create a software raid. Its not as good as a hardware raid controller but it still does a good job and is more stable then a windows software raid. A software raid should also work under any distro.

Got it working using the BIOS RAID.
Thanks. Didn't need any drivers with Suse 10.2
