Installing programs in Linspire?

When I download a Linux program...maybe an antivirus program...what would I choose to run the program? It asks me to choose a program to run the program.

Thanks for the help

Your question is quite vague. Is the program designed to run in Linux or is it some Windows program? Some more details, such as the file name, etc. would be helpful.

Let me add that if you are brand new to Linux, I recommend getting all your programs from Linspire's CNR warehouse until you get a little more familiar with your new OS.
