images in menus in thunar outside xfce4

I'm moving from Slackware 14.2 to current. I use Thunar in Openbox, not in Xfce4, which worked fine in 14.2. Now however, the setting "Show images in menus" (a display setting for Xfce4) does not work.

I use a lot of custom actions, and having no icons in the menu is surprisingly inconvenient.

I'm not optimistic that I can fix that, but still, why does that setting not work in Openbox (it was de default earlier). Can I tell Thunar directly to show icons?

In your ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, set:

Code:
[Settings]
gtk-menu-images = 1
GTK reads its settings from this file when a settings daemon is not being run.

This is cool info, I'm also using thunar outside xfce and had no icons in menu until creating that file with that setting.

Happen to know an icon set with a complete set of icons for thunar? I now have a few missing... Probably something that comes with xfce eh....
