How Can I Stay Logged In?

My system in Debian Bullseye and I am using the kde plasma windows manager.

I live alone and no one has access to my computer.

It is very irritating to have to login again every time I'm away for a few minutes.

I have tried various display settings but none let me stay logged in. There must be an easy way to do this but I have not found it

There's two separate places within Settings > System Settings...

Workspace > Desktop Behaviour > Screen Locking, untick "Lock screen automatically after..."

Hardware > Power Management > Energy Saving, untick "Suspend session" - also note there may be multiple tabs for AC / Battery / Low Battery.

There was also BlueProximity for older versions of Debian: https://packages.debian.org/search?k...=blueproximity

The code is still around. It's written in python and shell script, so it might not be hard to bring forward.

@Turbocapitalist. In Python 2, should I say. That's why it was dropped from Bullseye. And the OP wants to avoid the screen being locked.

As the previous comment stated, technically you are still logged in but the session is locked.
See post #2, I believe it contains the info you need.

I may add that screen blanking (not locking) might still be desirable even if you live alone.

How Can I Stay Logged In?

The suggeations by Boughton worked. Other suggestion looked interesting but as I no longer have the problem I cannot test them
