FVWM3 myExt

This is a collection of FVWM configs. Inspired by Gnome Extensions that make gnome multifunctional. This gave the name "FVWM myExtensions". It started with the new FVWM3 (F? Virtual Window Manager), as an experiment and became a fully functional base that makes "my" daily computer workflow faster, simpler and more efficient. This is a model for you to use, modify or create your own.

The screenshot displays some of the extensions + a guide image.

This collection makes the desk different from what you may have experienced before. It has a modern look but the behavior and navigation are similar to the functions of the mid-90s before Win95 was introduced.

If you are new to FVWM and wondering what it is all about. FVWM is a Window Manager (WM). What sets it apart from other WMs, it is also a Virtual Manager (VM). Among the powerful fvwm features is the virtual desktop, which allows you to place windows on an area much larger than the actual size of the visible display.

Looks interesting, I will try this out and see what I can incorporate in my config, though I didn't like Gnome V3 at all. FVWM is a severely underrated Window Manager and really is more a framework to build your own Graphical environment. I've created a couple of GUI scripts to make things easier myself, might share them here.

Finally, the Fvwm extensions are ready. Work like a user-oriented model to use, modify and create your own. It is a One-time install and then upgrade with Extension Installer. This graphic installer makes it user-friendly for those who prefer a quick setup of their choice. The update is handled through the GitHub repository:
https://github.com/rasatpc/FVWM3-myEXT

How does it work? Make a test run.
In FVWM3 myExt distribution there are new MX Linux and Arch Linux respin ISO (3.1.4) in the SourceForge site that has been recognized with a Rising Star award by SourceForge.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/fvw...-distribution/
(MX21-Fvwm3-myExt-3.1.4-x64.iso)
(ArchLinux-Fvwm3-myExt-v3.1.4-x86_64.iso)

MX Linux autologin
Arch Linux Login:
user: demo
pass: demo

How does it look, click the below screenshot.

Now when the base is ready, the next thing TO DO is to find and create new extensions and encourage users to make them. Another interesting feature is to merge them with other WMs/DEs. This is how it looks in XFCE with the extensions.

Damn, one of these days I really want to dive into FVWM head-first, at the deep end!
Thanks for sharing this. Looks great, and probably uses 10% of the resources compared to GNOME et al.

With Fvwm it is an instant login. The FVWM3 package (git) is only 5Mb. The Shell Extensions of GNOME kept me keeping it for a few years. In 2020 when Fvwm3 was introduced, had a look at the different user configs on the internet. Saw the same functionalities as in Gnome Ext but much easier to build. Didn't look back since then. There are now 56 extensions. Looking forward to getting users to create more that makes an interesting workflow and ease per their choice.

Currently, the Fvwm3 git install instruction needs some improvement. Follow these instructions on rasatpc git (Debian, Arch and Fedora):

There are major improvements in Fvwm3 myExt collection version 3.4.1 with Extension Installer, new configs (total 40), wallpapers, window decor, etc.
