Fingerprint Reader

I have a Lenovo t470 laptop with fingerprint reader and trying to get it to work on Deepin.
I am running Deepin 20.

lsusb detects it as:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 138a:0097 Validity Sensors, Inc.
The fprintd command comes up with no devices available.

waleed@waleed-lenovo:~$ fprintd-enroll
Code:
list_devices failed: No devices available
I tried the Ubuntu method of getting the fingerprint working but the packages complained. I am wondering if getting a later version of fprintd will help but Deepin's latest version is

Code:
waleed@waleed-lenovo:~$ apt list fprintd
Listing... Done
fprintd/unknown 0.8.2-1+eagle amd64
fprintd/unknown,now 0.8.2-1+eagle i386 [installed,automatic]

any ideas?
Thanks

Deepin - debian based, yes?
https://wiki.debian.org/SecurityMana...authentication

Also:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fprint

And my notes say:
Quote:
In the end I installed 'libfprint0' from backports, rebooted a few times, and executed 'sudo pam-auth-update' - now it works reasonably well.

Thanks, I tried libfprint0 and reboot a few times.

pam-auth-update does show fingerprint as an option but I still get no deices found. So perhaps it's some driver issue still?

Code:
root@waleed-lenovo:/home/waleed/Downloads# apt list libfprint0
Listing... Done
libfprint0/unknown,now 1:0.8.2.1-4 amd64 [installed]
libfprint0/unknown,now 1:0.8.2.1-4 i386 [installed,automatic]

IDK, we need more troubleshooting info than that.
Full output of every command entered, and more.
You might want to use the two wiki articles as a blueprint. The second even has a troubleshooting section which seems to specifically mention your problem.
