CompTIA Linux + 2009 Beta

Hi guys,

I landed down here via Google. Hope you are doing fine. I have heard that the CompTIA Linux + exam's 2009 objective is out by Feb this year. I would like to know how long is it valid? I want to take up this exam sooner. Because beta exams are cheaper

Besides, is there any book which I can follow? Kindly give me some amazon link. I have four plus months of experience in Linux. Was into M$ before that. How many questions are asked and what is the passing score?

Also, please let me know how much does it cost for the beta exam?

Thanks for all your time!

EDIT: OOPS Sorry! I found all the relevant answers in http://certification.comptia.org/linux/betainfo.aspx but I am NOT sure how long is this beta exam valid for! I mean till when can one take this exam?

I am just wondering, are there any books to get through this exam though?

You might have to move quickly, though can't say for sure. I'm taking the exam next Wednesday for free (they offered 400 free vouchers to people who'd done the old version). The original email said:

The beta exam is an important step in validating the content of the new exam, which will launch fall 2009... You will not receive your pass/fail results or score report until the launch of the CompTIA Linux+ exam, scheduled for September 2009.
We were told, though, "Please note that the exam must be taken before April 20th in order to use the voucher", and it wasn't made clear that they'll be allowing access to the Beta exam up until the launch date.

Think it's too early yet. Amazon list a new edition of the Sybex study guide, but not available until October. You can download the 2009 exam objectives from the CompTIA website (or you could be cheeky, and contact Wiley offering to proof-read the new edition ).
