If you have CONFIG_GCC_PLUGIN_RANDSTRUCT set in your kernel config you may consider disabling it.
For some reason kernel 4.13 works fine but 4.14 have some issues in regards of nvidia-drivers.
Rant: And yes of course we have an official gentoo bug for over a month again which is still in unconfirmed status. For some reason I am quite lucky to always run the most untested configuration possible. as the new kernel branch got stabilised I realised nvidia-drivers should built. And so i dig until i found the root cause.
the nvidia-drivers ebuild should be fixed and filter CONFIG_GCC_PLUGIN_RANDSTRUCT.
It also looks like that these new gcc plugins can be a source of corruption so I decided to ditch any I had set so far.
