[SOLVED] is the gentoo live-dvd uefi?

does this iso start under UEFI or is it still bios? I'm having trouble installing Gentoo under UEFI.

How did you create the boot media?
Does your system report uefi dvd boot choice?

It did boot as EUFI. My problem now is that every time I install and boot into the new install I get "Loading initial ramdisk …" and it just hangs.

Gentoo live-cd can't boot in UEFI mode...
I suggest you to use SystemrescrueCd (GNU/Linux distribution based on gentoo),, and you can download iso image from here
http://www.system-rescue-cd.org/Download/

1-download iso file
2-install it on USB stick
3-disable secure-mode and enable UEFI mode in bios

And you will boot on UEFI
