Gentoo Installation on Macbook Pro

Hi all,

This is my first try at installing gentoo. I've been able to boot the DVD with Gentoo live once, now it refuses to boot. The computer goes through grub on the DVD, goes through a couple of boot screens, then sits on a black screen with a bar flashing in the top right hand corner. Just wondering if there is something wrong with the disc, or if I've made a silly mistake.

Any CD/DVD that boots will do. Nothing from install media will be part of your Gentoo installation.

I understand that, but I don't have anything booting at all. I've tried both the Live disc, and the regular install disc, and it just gives me this black screen, which I can type in, but no commands work. The live disc worked before, but now it refuses to do anything.
