[SOLVED] dhcp prob at startup too slow

Hello,

My startup times are really long. It probes for DHCP for eth0(not connected) and eth1(connected) for a very long time. It does work just too long.

The install cd is very quick with it so I think something is wrong with my configuration.

what file should I be looking for a possible solution. I'm thinking the count down timer for the probe or something like that is too high.

You can specific the timeout by dhcpcd_ethx option in /etc/conf.d/net file:

To make your network automatically work when an ethernet cable is plugged, have a look at ifplugd (or netplug).
