1- inside the Control Center, not all settings but some like to change themes, change the TrueType fonts and enable/disable composite need to restart the computer for the settings to take effect.
What could it be?
2- Frequency CPU Monitor from Mate Applets are not working, i can add it normally on the panel, but the frequency shown is always the same (800mhz) never changes.
3- In a past installation I had done work but this clean install I did the mate-applet-sensors is not detecting the nvcontrol nor the hddtemp.
When I type emerge -av mate-sensors-applet it shows it will to add nvidia flag as hddtemp and in time of compiling it does not compile.
Thank you all and hope you can help me
x64 version with "amd64" accept keywords and abi_x86_32 USE flag
About mate-applet-sensors not be detecting nvcontrol i "solved" installing nvidia-settings using emerge then gentoo install nvidia-settings 350 with this old version of nvidia-settings the mate-sensors-applet detect the nvidia.
I have exactly the same problem with mate appearance settings and unfortunately I cannot find coincidence with any of previous system updates (I'm nearly sure that this the cause). I noticed that system reboot is not needed for new settings to take effect - logout/login does the same.
I spent some hours trying to find the reason - I tried to reinstall mate-themes, gtk-engines, gtk+:2, gnome-themes-standard. I also tried to create a fresh new user account - no success.

Unfortunately this problem still persists here and I have not figured out the solution as well.
I discovered something interesting - executing the following command in terminal window:
marco --replace &
immediately brings up all the previous appearance changes. It may mean that the problem is connected with mate's windows manager or one of its dependencies. I also unmasked marco-1.8.2 and compiled it - no effect.
