Don't really like either. Just really can't get into Harry Potter or the flicks, no pun intended but it just comes off as a kindergartner's movie and books to me.
Star Trek, well, Next Generation was alright and I liked the older ones, not really into the movies though.

Ahh well..

Enterprise is like the best star trek show yet. ok, maybe tng is still better but enterprise is right up there. they are having the best season so far right now. its the only show i watch aside from the screen savers.

gud to hear, err read, from u fellas. the movies do not do justice to Star Trek.

Well, i was reffering to Star trek books, novels and not the movies or the series.

I basically love all the movies on Star Trek and also the various series, the Next Generation, Voyager cause I am a big fan, Six feet big

Never had Star Trek pajamas or anything like that, and haven't been able to stand Voyager or what little Enterprise I watched. Love TOS, TNG and DS9, though. Never cared for the movies much - some are okay, some not. Don't read the books - when I read SF, it tends to be plain SF - not media-tie-ins.

I'm weird - it's possible my favorite ST show was DS9, though I have a hard time deciding. Ditto for STI being my favorite movie. Yeah, it was slow and a knock off of the Nomad ep but it was cool. Although I probably liked the first fully independent TNG movie more, come to think of it.

Harry Potter? Nope.

But arent u all impressed with idea of Star Trek.
The futuristic Earth where money has no importance, all that matters is peaceful evolution. technology is free and is exchaned for other technology, just like u might exchange ur distros with friends for a beer or another distro

Well, I read Harry Potter to my kids, and it's not bad. Enjoyable for an adult, and the kids love it. Does that make me a fan??
Star Treks ok. Grew up watching the original, and the Next Generation wasn't bad, but couldn't get into Deep Space 9, and Voyager, I kept waiting for Kate to drop a reference to Inpector Columbo. Just can't get past that horrible stereotyping. Haven't bothered with Enterprise, just looks like more of the same. I think star trek has had it's fair run, and it's time to quietly die and let something in to take it's place.

Oh well, rereading Dune for the first since I was 20, and forgot how good that series is.

I oppose this and I am sure so will some others. Maybe, Star Trek is getting stagnant, but that is only in the series and the movies. It is by no means down in the books.

I feel it much better than the Star Wars, thae don't even have different names. Dont know hom many repeated episodes we have had already

Harry potter are the worst books I ever read, the movies are even worse.
As for star trek, there is some appeal in the original show from the 60's...

Some movies are ok, some not.
I like the first star trek movie the most...

i must again reiterate how good enterprise is. after the original start trek series tng was great because it was an advancement but ds9 was like you know lets just sit sround on this station and not really go anywhere and voyager was the series where the ship was going the wrong way. but with enterprise they have found a way to have new material and to keep with the original theme: the exploration of space. in this season the xindi have killed like millions of people in an attack on earth and they(enterprise) are out there trying to track them down before they strike again. good stuff. and its cool cause the ship is like not as advanced and some things we take for granted like the transporter dont really work so good yet.

Motto for Star Trek Deep Space 9 : To boldly watch as others go where no man has gone before.

I like the original for it's comedy (come on. Space hippies are damn funny )
I also liked ST TNG for it's more dramatic nature, good stuff.

The movies were great (except five which was unadulterated CRAP), and Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn is on my top 5 movies ever list. De plane boss de plane...
