Bicycling with laptop: 1)tough/rugged case/bag 2)Tips
I am looking on purchasing a laptop (probably a 15.4 inch widescreen Dell Inspiron 6000, or possibly a 17 inch Widescreen). My main mode of transportation is the bicycle.
I am looking on getting a case or bag that would fully protect the laptop from any bumps (e.g. when the bag on my back swings to one side and hits a pedestrian or a lamp-post/telephone post). and from any falls that I might take. I would like a heavy-duty case. Weight is no issue. If it's heavy, it's okay. I just want to protect the investment! Rainproof-ness is a welcome but not-absolutely-necessary thing. Backpacks are good, but in the summer, when it's hot, I'd like a mailman style bag. (What exactly do you call that kind of bag that slings over one shoulder and is around waist-level?)
Do you know of any companies/stores that sell these? What would you recommend for the laptop-carrying bicyclist? Any advice or tips?
I understand that this is not a linux-specific question, but I wasn't sure where else to post. If you know other forums/websites for these sort of questions, please let me know.
Thank you!
