Adding a Boot.ini entry

hi,

i have win2k pro installed on 2 different hdd's, wen i boot i do not get the boot selection screen to choose which installation i want to load.

after running the edit c:\boot.ini command i can c i only have one entry (which explains y i dont get a choice).

the entry i have currently is: this is my C:/ drive

[boot loader]
timeout=30
defauly=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)/WINNT
[operating systems]
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)/WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional"

The other win2k installation is on my D:/ drive which is Disk1

if i was to add the entry as seen below would this work?

default=multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)/WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Alternative"

also i am not sure the the "rdisk" is. will this ned to b changed. The HDD drive D is on is partitioned. Drive D and drive G

any help is greatly appreciated

you do need something like you put but i cant ever remember what i would do it try what you have said and re boot and try the win2k alternantive if it doesnt work it doestnt work no harm done. just maybe second time round try changing the rdisk to a 1 or the multi instead of the disk thats if it doesnt work by adding what you have put

good look

you might want to check out www.tweakxp.com. They have forums for windows OSes so if you post there it is more likely that someone that knows a lot about windows can respond.
