The problem is that my comp freezes (or appears to do so) once I press enter (it starts checking the hardware..and then gets stuck at one point). What could be wrong?....do u need the exact msg after which it gets stuck (I wont be able to take a screenshot will I?)

I've tried turning the power mangament off in the BIOS settings but with no luck. I also tried the "no-hlt" command, that didnt work either..

Ive just installed Fedora 5 onto an IBM ThinkPad and I am having the same problem - when I boot it for the first time, the computer hangs on the hardware check and I can't do anything with it. Before that the install seemed to go without any problem at all. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
