XFCE Enable Tap To Click - Error

Hey guys,

New here. Will probably post and intro post or something some time.

Anyway, I'm not exactly a linux noob but not exactly competent either. Somewhere in between.

I got XFCE running (Gnome... yuck) but am really annoyed by the lack of tap to click. I tried following the fedora wiki on enabling it with:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_t...touchpad_click

Section "InputClass"
Identifier "touchpad catchall"
Driver "synaptics"
MatchIsTouchpad "on"

####################################
## The lines that you need to add ##
# Enable left mouse button by tapping
Option "TapButton1" "1"
# Enable vertical scrolling
Option "VertEdgeScroll" "1"
# Enable right mouse button by tapping lower right corner
Option "RBCornerButton" "3"
####################################

MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
EndSection

I used gedit.
I got the following error output (and no beautiful tap to click...).

(gedit:2227): Gtk-WARNING **: Calling Inhibit failed: GDBus.Errorrg.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files

I made a pretty serious effort at googling this but am batting 0%.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe try looking in power management and see if there is a way to have more control for the touchpad.

I don't use the touchpad on my laptop instead I purchased a wireless mouse.

When I was running Fedora on my laptop the touchpad didn't work very well.

the gedit error should be meaningless in your case.
are you sure that's what prevented you from saving the file? you know you have to edit that with root privileges?
any text editor will do. xfce has mousepad iirc.

ps: please use code tags for code (go advanced => "#").
