using efi parameter to write fedora install

This is probably a simple question. I'm trying to install Fedora 24 to a 3tb sata III disk. Windows 7 installs fine when I select the drive using the UEFI option. When I try to install Fedora, the UEFI option is not there and Fedora does not install. I found information on how to write the install using the --efi parameter, but when I do, I get an invalid parameter error. What is the format for using the dd command to include the efi parameter?

Not making a lot of sense. The Fedora iso are hybrid and should show as both UEFI and non-UEFI in the boot list. How are you creating the F24 install media ?. What did you download (post a link) ?.

Where did you get the idea to add a efi parameter to dd (post a link to that document too) ?.

Thanks for the help. I downloaded the iso from the Fedora website.

I think the reason the UEFI option is not coming up is because the chipset (amd sb950) does not support linux. I found reference to the --efi parameter here:

They only mention it briefly, you may have to dig through it.

This wiki page states livecd-iso-to-disk is the command that takes --uefi option.

???? - again show us (current) references to support this assertion. A quick search indicates it has been supported by Linux for quite a while.

Your initial post indicates you used the "dd" command (as per the link) to create the USB. Is that true ?.
What do you mean by "does not install" ?. Does Fedora run as a liveCD ?. Have you tried to install from there ?. Any error messages ?. Is the disk gpt ?.

Insufficient info, too many unanswered q's.
