Samba Question
From my understanding Samba can be used to communicate with windows. Is that to say that the windows need to be on a Unix, or linux ran network? Or can I communicate with my windows on a dual boot computer while I'm on my linux?
My purpose is to get access to MP3 files I have on my windows machine.
Nope you can't use samba that way. You can mount your Windows partition in Linux and that will enable you to access your mp3 files. If you use NTFS for windows, you need to enable ntfs on your system. For instructions on how to do this go to www.fedorafaq.org .
