Random apps and kde/gnome components crashing auto logouts all occurring randomly.
This is really bugging me. Story: I changed cases (for better cooling) and upgraded RAM from 1 GB to 4 GB. Ever since then I have been getting all kinds of crashes/logouts. No errors logged because I have been too lazy to have SELinux allow the KDE crash handler to log, cause it won't by default. I decided to reinstall Fedora Core 8 and I continue to get these problems.
Also, I had a random logout when I was in the middle of downloading update packages and now I can't download the last 18 or so. Memtest showed that there were no errors in my memory after running it over night.
Another thing, I am running a 32-bit kernel of fedora. Fedora only maps/detects ~3.5 GB or so. Would upgrading to a 64-bit kernel resolve this?
Can anyone please help me with these problems. Thanks in advance.
My specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (~2.13 GHz)
4 GB or RAM (two 512 modules, one 1 GB module which are both from Wintec and one 2 GB PQI module all with 5 Cas latency)
Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT (256 MB of GDDR3)
2 Western Digital 320 GB SATA drives.
