RAID &LUKS
I am building anew machine. Intel 12 gen i7 processor after a mechanical issue with the old one. I have successfully got going a system using Fedora 36 workstatopn btrfs in a RAID 1 configuration using LUKS1 encryption. The The RAID configuration being setup using anaconda on the live CD. The Raid system is using two NVMe SSDs nvme0n1 and nvme1n1
I set the Raid up with /boot, /boot/efi and a / partitions
Partition 1 being the /boot/efi one as a RAID1 configuration EFI Filesystem.
Partition 2 being the / partition as RAID1 and LUKs1 encryption names FEDORA
Partition 3 being /boot partition as RAID 1 ext4
the / partition being set up with btrfs subvolumes so later I can use snapper or snapshot etc.
All seems to work fine, the system boots as expected.
Now I want to move the /boot partition into the root files system and configure grub to boot from it. remove the old partition and merge the space into the BTRFS volume.
for this I am following an article from sysguides Install fedora 36 with LUKS Full disk encryption + snapper+ grub-btrfs.
I am having an issue in reviewing the LUKs encrytion details. The article is written for a system that does not use a RAID configuration. In the article partitions 2 and 3 are the same as my partitions 2 and 3 article sda2 being the same as my nvme0n1p2 and nvme1n1p2 in the Raid configuration and article sda3 being the same as my nvme0n1p3 and nvme1n1p3.this also is shown as md127.
To look at the LUKs encryption details the artical says to use.#cryptsetuplukDump /dev/sda2 which I understand for a non raid system but what do I use in a RAID configuration to replace /dev/sda2 to access the details. the UUID for the partition, dev/nvme0np2 and same again for nvme1n1p2 or what.?
Finally I have same issue when looking at repalcing the old partition 3 device UUID with a LIKs encrypted device UUID where the root file system is mounted.
The article shows
#OLDBOOTUUID='$(lsblk -dno uuid /dev/sda3)"
#NEWLUKSUUID="$(lsblk -dno uuid /dev/mapper/luks-$(cryptsetup luksUUID /dev/sda2))"
My question is what to use the sda3 /dev/md127 the raid designation or enter two lines one with /dev/nvme0n1p2 and the other dev/nvme1n1p2 or can the two nvme be added on the same line.
the the same again in regard to /dev/sda2, on line 2 as I asked about above to look at the LUKs encryption details.
Can anyone assist with these questions please as I can not seen to find articles to assist.
Thanks
