Unfortunately I was just a little bit too confident about the good working of KDE 3.2 on fedora....
indeed xmms stop playing my mp3 files. When I upload them to play the xmms just stop....
the only player that I found it works is mplayer.....

Try going into the Control Center -> Sound & Multimedia -> Sound System and check your settings then in XMMS go into the Options -> Preferences then check that you are using the same Output Plugin as you are using for the sound driver in KDE.
