Pixelated horizontal scanlines during loading in Fedora 3?

The multi-colored scanlines only show up when there's a graphic loading screen. Fine at log in screen. Then, once logged in, sub-menus and folders/windows mostly transparent-I need to move my mouse over them to make them show up, and if I scroll down, only the bottom-most row gets refreshed. Any help? (Fedora 3, new installation, default Desktop packages, coexisting with XP[and doing fine]).

I had a similar problem.
I had to manually edit the config file for my graphic card driver.

are you running an intel 810 integrated chipset for graphics?

What I did is disable the graphic acceleration. I believe it is a bug.

Let me know if you are interested in the solution that i have.

I will post the links here.
(I need to get 5 posts tho)

Ok try this:
into /etc/X11/xorg.conf

In videocard section Add this on the last line:
Option "NoAccel"

Reboot linux. Let me know if it works.

(You will not get graphic card acceleration but it might do the trick)

I have no acceleration also and it fixed this problem.
tux game runs like crapola. (slow frame rate)

What kind of video card do you have?
If the tweaks did not work it is probably another issue.
Please post your graphic card specs.

Maicro,

Reinstall your distro in text mode only.

Check this post. You should have straightforward instructions.
