No pressure sensitivity with wacom graphire 3 tablet on x.org

Hello all,

I have read multiple posts and I have had no success with setting up my graphire 3 tablet on the newest version of x.org.

I have kernel 2.6.14 and have tried unsucessfully installing the kernel modules but other users say they dont even need to edit their x.org config file for their modules to work with pressure sensitivity. Could anybody help me out?

I got it working... though before I thought about trying my tablet I had compiled my kernel with the wacom drivers a long while ago. First I had to add this to my xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "stylus"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/wacom" # USB ONLY
Option "Type" "stylus"
Option "USB" "on" # USB ONLY
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "eraser"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/wacom" # USB ONLY
Option "Type" "eraser"
Option "USB" "on" # USB ONLY
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Driver "wacom"
Identifier "cursor"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/wacom" # USB ONLY
Option "Type" "cursor"
Option "USB" "on" # USB ONLY
EndSection

---

Then to get in it the GIMP, you have to explicitely tell it to accept the tablet. In the preferances - Input Devices - Configure Extended Input Devices - go through each of the 3 devices and change its mode from disabled to "screen".

I have trouble compiling my kernel with the drivers...

I also added those xorg lines and now SuSE somehow messed up my fedora hard drive but I now can automatically configure the xorg configuration file with SaX2.

Any help on the kernel drivers?

I don't know much about compiling the kernel past just "make menuconfig" then using debian's utilities to compile/package and install it, unfortunately.
