Mounting Vista's "native" format DVDs on Fedora

What is the current "state of the art" concerning mounting Vista DVDs on Fedora 8? At present, I can't do so. I've looked up a number of solutions on the net which appear to work for others, mainly on Ubuntu, but they don't work on Fedora.

Which format do they save as? Joliet or something else? If it's non-standard then it's part of the ol' lock-in and you should try to save them as something else.

By default Vista burns DVDs as a non-standard format. On some other versions of linux it is posssible to mount these DVDs by manually mounting them. I couldn't get this to work on FC8.

Here's a page from a Ubuntu forum where it's described how to mount the DVDs. None of these commands worked for me.
