Looking for a dual controller monitor known to work with Linux

I'm looking to purchase a multi-controller monitor that will allow me to sell off my 5 monitors. I know it won't give me the same amount of viewing surface but it will cut down on my bill. I have one at work but that is with a Windows computer and there is software that is loaded on the laptop that assists with the configuration of the monitor. Not sure if there is a Linux version of the software.

Has anyone had any successful experience with this?

Do you mean you want a display that can accept input from more than one GPU at a time? I had one of these for a few weeks before returning it for refund. It had one USB-C input, one DisplayPort input and four HDMI inputs, any 1, 2, 3 or 4 of which could be used at once. IIRC it or anything that might have superceded it should fill the bill, if I'm understanding what you're after. I have a dead 29" Dell U2913WM that could display from any two of its VGA, DVI, HDMI & DisplayPort inputs. I think what you need to search for is PBP, PIP and/or POP to get multiple simultaneous input support. Picture/[By,In,Outside]/Picture. This used to be a feature on many TVs, though for no more than two at a time except from Sony AFAIK. I've never bought a flat panel TV that doesn't have P*P, and I'm getting tired of being limited to the 15 & 12 year old 32 inchers I have, unable to find P*P when I try to shop TVs. I got spoiled by a MultiVision 1.1 distinct PIP device in 1989, used until my first flat panel in 2008.

Yes. I just assumed that it also comes with split screen capabilities. For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM1yxl8oeO4

I guess you mean by "it" you're considering buying the same model display in the video? I suppose the software version's apparent need for no more than one keyboard & mouse could be really nice. I don't understand how it could work, unless the "other" computers are VMs rather than multiple PCs, each with their usual own GPUs, which is how it works here - lots of PCs, no VMs. My setup allows for up to 6 displays in use at once, all without any special software.

I'm not sold on that specific model but one with similar capabilities. I'm not a gamer, I just need it to maximize my work and cut back on my power consumption. I don't need to control all workstations with one keyboard and monitor either. I just want the ability to 1. have the ability to split the screen into windows which to some degree can be done just by resizing windows when only using one workstation. 2. have the ability to view all workstations at once which I'm doing now with 4 different monitors but then reaching up and changing the input as needed but again, I have 4 monitors running 4 workstations.

I'm also currently running X over ssh for the Linux workstations and I could continue to do that to possibly save even more power consumption.
