I cannot confiure wireless networking card Intel PRO/2200BG

Sir,
I am using Fedora core 6. Recently I tried to configure Networking. Though I am new to this subject ( and to Linux also), I could connect to other computers through LAN. But I could not configure wireless networking.
When I checked in Sytem-Network, I saw that the wireless hardware of my laptop (Make:Acer, Type:Aspire 5500Z) comes as ethernet. The hardware of wireless networking is "Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection". I could not find out the name of ethernet adapter in the wireless network list (i.e., 'intel coroporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG network' was not there in the list) when I tried to configure wireless network.
Please help me. As I am newcomer in this field, please instruct in step by step method.
Thanks in advance,
Jayarajan.C.N
