how to PXE install on a remote system (disk - LUN) in Fedora with UEFI

Hi,

I'm able to do PXE install on a local disk with the below pxe label,

label OEL7-phy
kernel pxe-vmlinuz
append initrd=pxe-initrd.img device=enp2s0f0 bootproto=dhcp root=live:http://10.114.1.253/T/LiveOS/squashfs.img nomodeset network

I tried to do a PXE install by appending a driver disk to initrd.img(contains drivers of the remote storage and network driver ), I'm not able to install the OS and this drops down to the dracut shell with the error /dev/root doesn't exist.

I have given the pxe label as below,

label OEL7-pxe
kernel PXE-vmlinuz
append initrd=PXE-ol7-initrd.img,oel7-rhdd.img device=pxe2.sarjapur_j bootproto=dhcp root=live:http://10.114.1.253/T/LiveOS/squashfs.img --source=http://10.114.1.253/oel7-rhdd.img nomodeset network

Please suggest me how to append custom driver disk to initrd.img in new Fedora / redhat which follows the latest UEFI model.

thanks in advance
Ankit

Hi John,

I'm hoping the OEL7 (Oracle Linux 7) is almost same as RHEL7 and Fedora 19.

Here I'm doing PXE installation to a remote disk and I want to install OEL 7 on the remote disk. The local HDD may have any OS (redhat, fedoar, OEL).

Thanks,
Ankit
