I was running Fedora 33 and updated to 35.When I did that my home folder was on a separate partition not formatted. Now my home directory on the new install is different. Haven't had this issue before on new releases so clearly I did something wrong but how do I change my directory to the old home directory?
Why I am at it how do you the delete the one just created for the new release install?

Edit /etc/passwd

Same way that you would delete any other directory (assuming I understood the question).
Does new install mean you installed from scratch? I know it is possible to upgrade over 2 releases but it isn't obvious whether this was an in place upgrade or fresh install?
On my Fedora 34 VM the installer defaults to BTRFS with sub-volumes. I have not played with all of the install options but if you had a separate /home partition but did not do a manual partition I would assume that the partition would not be used. I believe that Fedora 33 also defaulted to using BTRFS but not sure it it used sub-volumes.
Without knowing exactly how your drive is partitioned its a bit difficult to say how to proceed.
I would expect that /etc/passwd home to be /home/username its just that we do not know where home is located at the moment...

I was able to solve it but noted. I will try and be more specific next time.
