http://www.redhatmagazine.com/2008/0...r-on-fedora-9/

did i understand it correctly?

you can save your complete Fedora-OS to a USB-memory and install it anywhere?

does that mean u sav ejust the OS or the state(meaning your files and layout etc) as well?

I take it that guy means it's a live-cd-like installation of Fedora onto a (big) USB memory that can write changes to filesystem onto the stick itself, unlike normal live-cd-like distributions. There are (or so I believe) other distributions than Fedora that do this too, but I guess not many as "big". Though I wonder if the USB version is really as big as the "normal" one, or if it is, one needs quite a big USB memory for that..

The usb version uses the live disc .iso file.

I made one from a Windows machine at work using this: https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator

But if you have Fedora running already this is the Howto for that: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD/USBHowTo

By setting the persistent memory during the install allows for the changes to be retained.

Everything I have read about the usb Fedora mentions a 2 gig drive. I think you can do it on a 1 gig but it isn't recommended.
