Fedora good?

Hello there!

I have a question! I'm new to linux (1 year), and i use Debian on my laptop, since i have one desktop too, i was thinking to move completely to linux, letting go of windows (just to play some games ). And this Fedora distribution looks like a got shot, but i'm still not ... not ... need some opinions.

What can you tell me about Fedora! In terms of ... almost everything. Thus anybody here has it? What do you thing about it!

Need something on this matter!

Thanks for the time ...

If you want to make an easy start, try mandrake 9.1 or redhat 9. In my hands they work far better than fedora.

.... it's all a matter of taste...

I actually really like Fedora. I installed test3 (Fedora Core 0.95) and have been updating it since. Installation is as easy (or easier) than Mandrake or Suse (a matter of personal opinion, really). Fedora seems very stable, and the release schedules allow for rapid development (you get the "latest & greatest" 3 times per year).

Fedora includes tons of apps, all very stable. I have been having trouble with my Nvidia card and opengl programs, but other than that, everything's fine!

The Bluecurve theme is quite pleasing to the eye. I like it much better than MDK Galaxy.

The bottom line is: try it out, then try others, like Mandrake or Suse, and see what you like.

Fedora = Redhat 9+extras
It will replace RedHat standard line.
It works very well from what I have found so far. Though I have only just installed it.

I love it so far and even my roommate, who isn't experienced with computers, has been using it on his PC after i installed it and is having no trouble with it. Pretty impressive.

It's basically RedHat 9 with Gnome 2.4 and other updates and extras plus RedHat/Fedora's system configuration tools and control panels, which Windows-like GUI configuration of various settings very easy.

Thanks,
I'll check out the discussion. I have the same thoughts, do I need to upgrade?
