Question Fedora Ext3 Support in Installation

Hello,

I have redhat 9 installed and the root partition have ext3 as filesystem. When I tried to install fedora I wanted to format this root partition but in the installation I couldn't select to format this partition as ext3. I could select ext2 but I liked the journaling capability of ext3 so I don't want to format it as ext2. What happened there? why fedora don't allow me to format as ext3 in the installation?

Thanks in advance,

---zdruid

You should see the option, if you want reiserfs, during the initial install at the "boot prompt" type:

linux enable reiserfs

That will also be an option.

weird... I installed fedora core 1 on a machine here and I had the option to use ext3... here's the result of running "mount":

/dev/hda2 on / type ext3 (rw)
none on /proc type proc (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
usbdevfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs (rw)
/dev/hda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
/dev/hda7 on /var/log type ext3 (rw)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/hda5 on /webapps type ext3 (rw)
/dev/hda3 on /work type ext3 (rw)
/dev/hdb1 on /mnt/laplace1 type ntfs (ro)
/dev/hdb5 on /mnt/laplace2 type ntfs (ro)
/dev/hdb6 on /mnt/laplace3 type ntfs (ro)
~->uname -a

Try to run the setup again and double check it... maybe for some weird reason it wasn't enabled...
