Unhappy Fedora 8 - Problem installing NdisWrapper's Correct version...

Hello:
I just installed Fedora 8 and can't seem to get the wlan0 setup as a device used by ndiswrapper. **can anyone tell me additional repositries I can enter into the software manager?? *** I have a USB-Network Adapter. I did the usual install ...:
ndiswrapper -i athfmwdl.inf and ndiswrapper -i netwg11t.inf
ndiswrapper -m , then -ma and -mi

The network manager sees the wlan0 configured, but when I try to activate the connection it says ndiswrapper module not present. If I do an ndiswrapper -l it says my two .inf's above are installed and netwg11t (hardware is present). /etc/modprobe.d has ndiswrapper file in it. lsmod doesn't show ndiswrapper. ndiswrapper -v says the module is too old.

I tried following the install instructions on the ndiswrapper website, but when I extract the .tar file to a directory, I can't seem to get the make command work. I tried chmod +x * for all of the files even, still can't get the install to work. Even tried PATH=$PATH:'/my ndis path'.
What am I missing here???

Try loading the module as root with:

modprobe ndiswrapper

Regards
