Fedora 7 Installation Guide

I have written a guide to help those who use fedora for the first time configure fedora 7 and install some of the basic programs and codecs. You can find it here.

Not that most of us need to be told how to install ati drivers, but why did you not include that? Just curious. Also, I would re-word some of it, because looking at other guides for fc6 you see the same wording word-for-word. Thats only if you care, which if people are looking for help they probably don't care.

Other than that, its decent. I'm sure someone will find this useful.

Oh, make sure you update it because some things you are saying aren't available yet actually are. Atleast now they are.

Good Job,

nomb

Thanks for your comments nomb. I haven't included an ATi drivers how to, because I don't have an ATi card and therefore I can't personally test it. I don't know if anything else apart from yum install kmod-fglrx is needed. I could look to other fedora 6 guides but I can't be sure if it is still the same procedure under fedora 7. If you could tell me the procedure or at least verify that it is the same with fedorafaq for example I will add it.

I would like you to tell me which parts you think need rewording and I'll try to fix them.

As far as for the Not available yet, well my bad. I meant that I haven't written it yet. Not that they aren't generally available. :/ Soon they will be added though.

Don't include an ATI section because the ATI drives don't work yet under F7. :|

I have read about it Undertoad and I added a relevant section in my guide. There is a link to a possible solution also but I haven't tried it myself. You can try and tell me.

The way I read it, he was saying that some sections were the same as in other guides.
If those were copyrighted, then you could have a real issue. Otherwise, you should at least give attribution.

Exactly. And my plan was to go back and look at all that for you, I've just been slammed with work lately.
