I was trying to figure out how to change my system login banner and my system login message for an assignment. If someone could let me know i would appreciate it. I know it has to be something simple.
Im am currently have fedora boot in runlevel 3. So i would like to see the banner before the login prompt and the login message after I login. THANKS.
To give a login message after you login you can edit /etc/bashrc. This will affect everybody that logs in. There might be a better way to do that considering not all systems utilize a bashrc file. Conisder using /etc/profile or the directory /etc/profile.d/
To edit the bashrc or profile files just use bash scripting or sh scripting. If you don't know bash scripting then run a google search for help on that.

On /etc/issue just make it say what every you want your banner to say. WYSIWYG. Note that you might want to write down what it used to say so you don't forget how to change it back.
On /etc/profile just add "echo In theory" to the end of it.
