Fedora 19. Update manager just sits there with a blank terminal screen

About three weeks ago, I believe that there was an update to some files which I think may have affected yum and or update manager. When I click on the update manager icon, I get a blank screen and nothing happens after that. I know that there updates available as I download and install them using Webmin. This situation exists on my Fedora 19 desktop and my Fedora 19 laptop as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and is there a way to resolve it ?

did you have the "Fedora-testing" and / or "Fedora-rawhide" repo turned on ?
yum has a bug in the TESTING ONLY repo ( a WELL documented bug )
downgrade yum to the version in the normal update

PS
If someone told you that the "fedora-testing.repo" and or "Fedora-rawhide.repo" is a "rolling release"
they lied to you
it never has been and never will be
fedora is not a rolling release

I am having this problem as well. I can open a terminal and sudo yum update, which updates just fine. But the update manager will not work.
