Wireless

I don't know about the battery dealie, but I got wireless working with Fedora Core 1 using the ndiswrapper found at the Source Forge web site (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ndiswrapper/). You mat find that your wireless card is already supported by Linux and that you simply set it up as a new network connection by going to "System settings | Network" in the main menu panel. I am not sure if the ndiswrapper software works with FC2. You can also try the Linuxant driverloader (http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader.../downloads.php). Good luck.

In case this helps, battery indicators show up when i run KDE desktop enviro as opposed to GNOME. So, try that and if you were not overly attached to GNOME just stick w/ KDE.
About the wireless, i am away from my network at the moment but i just got promising results from a little thing called linux-wlan-ng. To be honest, i am not entirely sure as to what it does (linux noob), but it's worked better for me than ndiswrapper which kindly tells me to go f*ck myself when i try to configure my Linksys WCP11 ver. 4 PCMCIA adapter.

Hope that helped some

Just go into the ndiswrapper directory, follow the install instructions, and you should be ok. It's a pretty simple setup.

What do you do w/ the windows drivers you want to "wrap"? I thought that was the point of the ndiswrapper. You just shove the sys and inf files of the driver you want somewhere on your computer and follow the readme install inside of the ndiswrapper directory, that's basically as far as I can explain it without a bit more specific question.
