Can Fedore Core 1 upgrade (or update) RH9 ?

I didn't still obtain success with this process (attempt).

Did anybody already get this?

TIA,

Marcos Nobre

When I install, it has always offered me the option, but I've never selected it.

Yes

Upgradable.
I upgraded a running system, using Apt-RPM running Fedora Core packages, and did an apt-get distupgrade to do so. Worked quite well. Took me five minutes of dependency fixing (as this system is running for quite a long while now), and it went on, and on, and on, downloading, and installing.
Few hours later, it was waiting for me as a brand new Fedora Core1!
Not to mention that I did reboot the system only few days later. Nothing was broken.

you know, the best way is to just try.

Ez.

I've tried updating three machines from RH9 to Fedora Core 1. In every case, I've had various small problems. On my Athlon 2700+, I got several screens of MODPROBE errors on bootup. On my IBM R-40 laptop, the power management utilities started having odd problems. And on my wife's Gateway P4, I seem to recall the USB card reader stopped working. Doing a full-up install cleared up the issues in each case.

It's possible that I've just had a string of bad luck, but I've had better results doing a full install rather than an upgrade.

What is the exactly route ?

Ezaton, can you tell me the exactly route of instructions (commands) that I should to execute to get my RH9 ported (updated) to FC1 ?

Can you describle the sequence of commands that I should to emit to "using Apt-RPM running Fedora Core packages, and did an apt-get distupgrade to do so" ?

Thanks in advance,

Marcos Nobre

What is the tip or trick to do it ?

Pawliha,

What is the sequence of commands that I have to undertake to do it ?
Did you had booted FC1 from CD (cd burned from iso images) and got the normal (offered) upgrade ?

Which was your procedure?

TIA,

Marcos Nobre
