Can any one tell me how to se Navigation metaphor as default?


Can any one tell me how to se Navigation metaphor as default?

I want to be able to open all my folders in eploere mode with a side pane wiht the tree, I don't like the way it is now in FC2. thanks

What are you using as graphical envonment? gnome, kde?

I don't use KDE and I am only familar with Gnome.

In FC the default set-up for the file view is just that , it just displays the files , if you want to set nautilus to act like a browser with a tree view on the left side like in windows then here is what you do :
Goto
System Tools -> Configuration Editor -> apps ->
nautilus -> preferences
and then check the box for "always_use_browser"

Once you have done that , open either "Start Here" , "Computer" or <user's> Home
and then click on the side pane and then select "Tree" .

You will then have the same type of file browser as Windows Explorer with a tree view in the left pane and the file names in the right pane.

i dont have a box for that in my nautilus preferences. im running gnome on mdk 10.1. id really like to use browse mode without having to right click & select browse.
